What type of computer do you use for streetdeck?

Postby tinsoldier on Fri Apr 03, 2009 11:22 pm

I use my SD with a mac mini running XP pro. I have that hooked to a 8" touch panel in the dash and various periphrals.

Just wondering if anyone has used it on a netbook (mini laptop) yet. I am thinking of getting one for using in my RV and just wondered if they had the power to run it. Even my dual core mac has seemed to have issues with it at times.

I use an Intel Atom dual core with 1 gig of ram. Really nothing special at all. Onboard video and audio. Runs absolutely fine with no noticeable lag and low power consumption. If you give me about a week, I can test it out the Trial without navigation on the original eee laptop. I can't install the full with navigation because of hard drive space.

I'm also using a dual core Atom (512MB ram). Works pretty good at 30fps.

I just got an MSI wind single core atom with 2gb ram. I really like it and it seems to run SD2 good. I put it in the back of the RV and then use my touch screen up front with long cables. This way the kids can watch vids while I have navigation. Then I can take it out and take it with me when I need too.

I run a t5500 (1.66Ghz core 2 duo) with 1x1GB ram :D....seems to handle sd2 pretty well (and hd movie playback).

An onboard optical output is unusual. What kind of motherboard are you using?
