Which bluetooth phone adapter will streetdeck support? I had purchase one from mp3car that works with SD1 but with now I upgrade to vista and can't get drivers. Will SD2 use something else?

There is no bluetooth phone in SD2.

Did they finally get Bluetooth working with the Parrot adapter in SD1? Before I left for my year in Afghanistan it was stil in the testing stage so I did not buy an adapter (since I could not give them feedback). Now MP3car.com does not seem to support Streetdeck anymore, and I find no other mention of BT for Streetdeck. If I don't upgrade to SD2 will the last version of SD1 work with BT and the Parrot adapter?

I think it's finally time to go out and get a dedicated bluetooth device for this...With no working solution after a few years and no ETA, maybe it is time to not worry so much about integration. It's more just about talking safely and conveniently hands free. All we really need is a simple way to kill sound card audio (or re-route input to the bluetooth hardware) when the phone is active. Thoughts on this?

I use an IHF1000 Motorola.....works great. It does have to be integrated into your car, but uses a standalone contact list, meaning the same list is used for any phone that is paired.

The Parrot Minikit Slim is one option I'm considering: Link here.

It has USB charging and contact download capability. It would be great if the USB connectivity provided an opportunity for integration with the PC's sound output (mute via Girder?).

There are many adapters that the streetdeck supports. You need to select as per your requirements such as brand, budget and key features required. Match and get the best one.

switch to a supported front-end, and make a streetdeck skin for it? Honestly, I wouldn't expect ANY new features to come out of Streetdeck, LLC.
