It's going to happen, it's just going to be ages mate. There's a chance that this could be sorted in about a week or two if last year's activity dates are anything to go by (I remember Streetdeck 2 picking up some kind of pace Jan 09), but I really wouldn't count on it. At a guess, I'd say the patch will take until late January to appear, and it'll be early April before there's any sign of the final product.

I have no real authority to set this out, but I know the drill; we all know this has happened plenty of times before. If I'm wrong at least we can legitimately say we have been waiting for 1/4 of a year for an activation patch - by which time it'd better have an original soundtrack, 'the making of', extras and programmers commentary.

Has anyone [in Europe] downloaded and tried the European version of SD? I noticed it on the list of available versions to download when I was redownloading V2.

Yes, and it wouldn't even start.

Really? SD or the GPS engine in SD? Were you able to get the North American version to work?

SD itself :)
Didn't try NA, but there is no problem with no navigation, and SD1 with EU navigation also works.

It's a real shame SD1 does not work with windows 7, and there is no Europe SD2.

For us EU users there is really no usable frontend available. I own a CentraFuse license too, but it is also a joke. Navi data is OLD, user interface is only made for looks, not for usability (only 3 songs displayed at a time in playlist, it only supports 800x480 resolution, ...) responsiveness is ridiculous (you only get somewhere between 1 and 2 fps, and you have to wait half a second to even get an action when you press a button), ...

I do hope Chuck comes back and fixes SD, because IMHO it is still the best frontend.

CHUCK! What the hell is going on, why do you not even tell us that you abandoned SD (if that is the case)? Please, work on it, or release it under GPL (but leave licensed parts out) and let us improve it.
